Senior associate Viive Kaur speaker at IT and technology conference

Senior associate Viive Kaur shall speak on the upcoming IT and technology conference organised by the leading Estonian daily business newspaper Äripäev. The conference focuses on the regulations and legal frames governing the registration of web domains and is aimed at managers of information and technology communication as well as knowledge management and IT specialists.

Viive Kaur shall concentrate on the importance of trademark protection in her presentation, also explaining why use of domain name and business name only are not sufficient to protect entrepreneurs’ interests in their operations. Viive shall conclude her presentation with a case study introducing alternative possibilities on how corporate managers can run and lead their intellectual property portfolios and to help entrepreneurs consider crucial and legally binding aspects in order to avoid copyright disputes.

Viive Kaur is highly acknowledged IP specialist. She also represents clients in IP litigation including trademarks and copyright disputes. Viive Kaur is the co-author of the handbook “Intellektuaalne omand”,  published this summer, covering the essence of intellectual property protection and its principal characteristics.
